Teen Psychologist
Teen Psychologist. As children move in to the period of time known as adolescents, new experiences, opportunities and challenges arise. While many of these are navigated effectively by both the teenager and their parents, there are times when teenagers may become overwhelmed by a problem and think that they are unable to cope effectively. Parents too may at times feel at a loss to assist their teen. The following is a list of issues that adolescents present with:
- Emotional problems such as anxiety, sadness/depression, being withdrawn
- Bullying issues including cyber bullying by other teens
- Perfectionism, unrealistic expectations
- Conflict with parents/siblings
- Social/friendship issues
- Academic issues
- Exam stress during teen years
- Sleep problems/sleep disorders
- Health issues such as type 1 diabetes and other chronic conditions
- Low self-esteem and lack of confidence in adolescents
- Lack of focus or motivation
- Identity issues
